Friendly Feilding

We drove up to Feilding today to take daughter NIcky out to lunch.  Arriving early gave me a little time to snap some photos of the town centre.  No wonder they call the town “Friendly Feilding” - you wouldn’t see a sign like this in very many towns.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch in one of the cafes, Nicky arrived with grand-daughter Emma too.  Being a Sunday, the cafe was quite busy, with people coming and going, all out to enjoy themselves on such a lovely Autumn day.

Then it was back to the family’s home.  NIcky and SIL Robert are just about to embark on an exciting trip to England and we had some info for them.  Nicky is particularly keen to check out stone circles, churches and cathedrals, and England certainly has plenty of those.  We took along some of the guide books we had purchased on our two previous trips to give them some ideas of places to go and things to see.  They are sure to find, like we did, that however long they are away, they won’t see everything they have on their wish list.

No visit to the family farm is complete without a trek out to the paddock to view the latest horse.  Emma’s foal Fire Dancer is now 6 months old and is growing up fast.  I very bravely totted outside in my completely inappropriate city sandals to say hello to the foal, and offer some carrots around to the horses.

Poor old Patch is a retired farm dog who is finding it hard to move around these days.  Chicken the cat was keeping him company on the porch.

Then it was time to say goodbye, and we started the journey for home.  Muffy was waiting for us,  and soundly told us off when we walked in through the door for leaving her home alone all day.  Then she reminded us loudly that it surely must be time for her tea – just get a hurry on, you two!

It sounds like you all had a fantastic day. They should have a lovely time in the UK. So many of those guides remind us of the places we have visited.
